Lap Band is Less Challenging

Once a patient has had the Lap Band procedure done, they will often find that they have reduced pain and less recovery time compared to other similar procedures and no hospital stay. A Lap Band procedure most oftentimes will take as little as 30 minutes to an hour.

Another advantage to Lap Band surgery is the procedure is adjustable and reversible should a patient not be satisfied with the results.

When a patient needs to have the Lap Band adjusted, it can be done through a simple procedure where a saline solution is inserted into the Lap Band itself. The surgeon does this by easily inserting a saline-filled needle into the skin and then into the reservoir portion of the Lap Band. This adjustment can be performed for women who are seeking to become pregnant or individuals who wish to lose additional weight.

If a person finds that the Lap Band surgery was not for them over time, the Lap Band may be removed. While doctors do not advise removing the Lap Band for any reason, knowing that it can be removed often gives comforts to patients.
